If you're feeling bored in a city like Tokyo, you're doing something wrong.
Most interns don't require to work overtime during their internship in Japan so there's plenty of time to explore the city!
For all our people with their internship in Tokyo, make sure to check out these events:
Akasaka Antique Market @ Ark Hills
Sunday March 26 2017 - Sunday April 23 2017
Far from a shabby yard sale, the Ark Hills flea market is more like an upscale alternative to Tokyo’s many smaller craft fairs. Setting up shop next to private antique dealers are trendy clothing brands, giving you the opportunity to upgrade your style before digging for everything from furniture to jewellery. Shoppers can also fill up with grub from the food trucks that often park at the premises.
Friday March 24 2017
This event is the place2be to meet the creative community of Tokyo. PechaKucha Nights are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together and share their ideas, works, thoughts, holiday snaps -- just about anything, really -- in the PechaKucha 20x20 format. PechaKucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images. It's a great opportunity to network and meet new people within the same field as your internship in Tokyo.
African Festival in Yokohama
Friday March 24 2017 - Sunday March 26 2017
Organized in Yokohama's Red Brick Warehouse the African Festival seeks to promote cultural exchange between Japan and the entire African continent. Now in its tenth year, it's one for everyone of all ages to enjoy, with African music live on stage, dance workshops, a market with 'African-style' clothing and more, plus the obligatory food court. If you're looking to experience a little slice of the diversity of this vast continent, this is a good starting point.
